Scientists from AllGenetics and Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche test different bioinformatic pipelines to standardise environmental DNA workflows
This week, AllGenetics’ project specialist, Dr. Neus Marí-Mena, is visiting the Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche (CNR) Istituto per lo Studio degli Ecosistemi, in Verbania, Italy. In collaboration with Dr. Diego Fontaneto, Dr. Alejandro Martínez, and Dr. Ester Eckert (Microbial Ecology Group), scientists are testing and implementing different pipelines in environmental data sets generated by high-throughput sequencing. The aim of this work is to help standardise bioinformatic workflows in the fields of environmental DNA (eDNA) and DNA metabarcoding.
The goal of the COST action DNAqua-Net is to bring together a group of inter-disciplinary researchers to identify gold-standard genomic tools and novel eco-genomic indices and metrics for routine application in biomonitoring and assessing biodiversity in European water bodies.
AllGenetics is proud to share its expertise in high-throughput sequencing and bioinformatics with other European colleagues to standardise biomonitoring methods through eDNA and DNA metabarcoding.
