The inaugural address was titled “Genomic applications in veterinary sciences: from food control to the resistome – new strategies to face the challenges of the 21st century”.

AllGenetics is pleased to announce that our project specialist, Dr Ania Pino-Querido, has recently been formally inducted as an academic member of the Galician Academy of Veterinary Sciences, where she will occupy chair number 25.
As part of the induction ceremony, Dr Pino-Querido delivered her inaugural address titled “Genomic applications in veterinary science: from food control to the resistome – new strategies to face the challenges of the 21st century”. The response speech was given by Mr Andrés Hermida Trastoy, president of the Academy.
During her address, Ania provided an excellent overview of the most relevant genomic techniques currently applied in veterinary sciences. She placed particular emphasis on the wide-ranging potential of DNA metabarcoding, metagenomics, and microbial genome sequencing, using both short-read (Illumina) and long-read (PacBio and Oxford Nanopore) technologies, highlighting their value in addressing present and future challenges in the field of veterinary sciences.
The entire AllGenetics team would like to express its admiration for our colleague Ania and to offer her our warmest congratulations on this important institutional appointment. We wish her every success in this new role of significant scientific and professional relevance.
Ania has been part of AllGenetics since 2020, working as a project specialist and collaborating very closely with our R&D department. In her role, she coordinates numerous projects developed for our clients, particularly those focused on microbial genomics. Since joining the company, Ania has consistently demonstrated outstanding technical expertise, strong commitment to our clients, and a personal charisma that has made her a key member of the AllGenetics’ team.
Prior to joining AllGenetics, Dr Pino-Querido was the head of the molecular biology laboratory at the Centro Tecnológico Agroalimentario de Lugo (CETAL).
