Experts in identifying bacterial, fungal, and algal species for biofertiliser registration

16S and 18S-ITS1 sequencing service for microbial species registration

According to national guidelines, all microorganisms which are component materials of a fertilising product must be identified and characterised for their inclusion in fertiliser product catalogues.

Identification must be done at the species level, and supported by molecular data obtained by sequencing specific genome regions (the 16S region in bacteria and the 18S-ITS1 region in fungal and algal species).

AllGenetics' bacterial, fungal, and algal identification service is a reliable, rapid, and cost-effective tool required for the registration of biofertilisers.

Step 1

We isolate DNA from your samples. We have adapted different DNA isolation protocols, depending on the starting biological material.

Step 2

We amplify the genomic region of interest (the DNA barcode) using universal or in-house-developed primer pairs.

Step 3

We sequence the PCR products in both directions.

Step 4

We analyse the electropherograms obtained and compare the resulting sequences against reference databases to find the matching species.

What you receive

A species identification certificate.
icon
A report with a summary of the methods followed.
icon
The raw electropherogram files.

icon
Your manually-edited sequences in FASTA format. If you require additional analyses, please let us know and we will do our best to meet your needs.
