AllGenetics joins ITN VIROINF to help studying virus-host interactions by linking virology and bioinformatics

This EU-funded Innovative Training Network is coordinated by Prof. Manja Marz (Friedrich-Schiller-Universität Jena).

AllGenetics is happy to announce that we are part of the EU-funded Marie Skłodowska-Curie Action (MSCA) Innovative Training Network (ITN) VIROINF. This ITN, which has been officially launched in March 2021, aims to understand (harmful) virus-host interactions by linking virology and bioinformatics.

«Now that the COVID-19 pandemic has greatly increased the interest of society and policy makers in virus in general, taking part in this international consortium with 26 other high profile institutions from 9 different countries represents a great opportunity for us to establish new alliances and improve our know-how on virus bioinformatics» says Dr Joaquín Vierna, AllGenetics’ general manager.

As a VIROINF partner, AllGenetics will host 5 PhD students from the network at our headquarters in Oleiros (Spain). PhD students will be supervised in-house by our head of bioinformatics, Dr Alejandra Perina.
